If you’re drinking alcohol, there are specific types of alcohol that will cause more damage to your liver than others. Alcohol liver damage is often caused by excessive use of alcohol over a long period of time. The liver is like any other organ and will slowly be damaged if too much is consumed over a long period of time.
One of the biggest contributing factors to this type of damage is high levels of insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is usually seen in older adults. People with insulin resistance are at a much greater risk of developing liver cirrhosis, which is the main precursor to liver cancer. High levels of insulin resistance can be brought on by eating foods that produce insulin, such as foods that contain lactose. Other food for fatty liver damage are those that are not really healthy if you have alcoholic fatty liver. These include dairy products like cheese, ice cream and butter, eggs, and soy sauce. They are high in saturated fats, so eating them on a regular basis may actually cause more damage to already-damaged liver cells. However, studies have found that silymarin from dairy products does not promote liver damage in non-alcoholic people. Other foods for the fatty part of your diet that you should avoid are those that are fried in vegetable oil (found in junk foods), sausages, processed meats, and products fried in animal fat.
As far as food for excess body weight goes, one possible healthy diet is one low in saturated fats, and high in fruits and vegetables. This would also include a regular exercise regimen. If you do not exercise regularly, however, even a moderate exercise routine can go a long way toward promoting better overall health, and a healthier liver.
